#7 A Childhood Friend

I got a suggestion to lookup an old childhood friend and I thought I would give it a try. At the risk of really creeping someone out who I haven't spoken to in probably 28 years, I decided to contact one of my best friends when I was in grade school. His name was Gerald and he moved to Michigan when I was in 6th grade I think. The only person I was able to locate was someone who might be his older sister from a web page detailing her experiences teaching in Africa. So I wrote her an email and within 10 minutes I received a response! I was floored! It was his sister, and she remembered who I was. She gave me his email and informed me he was now living in Austria. So I wrote him an email. I'll keep this post updated If I hear anything.

















Updated: I received a great email from Gerald and he's been living in Austria since 1995. He's married with kids who are the exact same age as mine. It was great reading what he's been up to and we've traded memories of growing up together. I've also received a couple photos of him and his family, which is great because all I could picture in my mind was the 10 year old kid I knew back then telling me all these things in the email. I'm sure we'll continue to stay in touch with each other.
