#8 Chinese Name

Today I wrote my name in Chinese. I learned that there are no direct translations for names from Chinese to English because the languages are so completely different. Instead, the translation is based on imitating the sound of your name with existing Chinese characters. For instance , my name "David" is translated by using the sounds da and wei (pronounced "way") Most of the sites I found, like this one, let you type in your name and it searches a database of already translated names. If you have a common name you should get a result. If you don't, you can go to this site and make your own by trying to reproduce the sound of your name with a list of Chinese characters.
