#9 Gettysburg Address

Okay, probably not the most exciting thing I'll ever do this year but I was so busy following up on #7 this evening that I had to come up with something quick. I read the Gettysburg Address. I don't recall ever reading the speech in school or maybe I just wasn't paying attention that day in history class. The speech was given in 1863 at the dedication of the Soldiers' National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and is considered by many as one of the greatest speeches in American history. It took Abraham Lincoln only two minutes to deliver it and he wasn't even the main speaker! You can read the speech and see one of the original drafts or read a transcript on this site among other famous documents.
