#48 The Great Race

I've never understood the fascination with NASCAR. I've never spent more than 2 minutes watching it on television. I've also had people who are fans swear that all I have to do is give it a chance and I will like it. So today I watched the Daytona 500 race. I can't say that the first 150 times around the track were riveting, mostly because I had a hard time understanding the strategy involved, but right around 50 laps to go, cars starting crashing into each other and things started to heat up a bit. I have to admit that I actually started to enjoy it. I don't think I'll go out of my way to watch another race, but I'd probably watch one if it happened to be on, well maybe the last ten minutes of it.
